In the new age where technology is constantly growing, making money has never been so unique. Nowadays, making money online is the new fad. Not only is it convenient, it is also very easy to learn. That is why interested individuals are sprouting everywhere; trying to get a grasp of this so-called new age money making.
There are tons of ways to make money through the internet, but most of them have the same concept – promotion. Perhaps you are already under their spell without even realizing it. Have you ever been offered money by a company who needs you to help them advertise by posting a link of their website in your Blog? If so, then you have already made money online!
Advertisements are the main concept behind making money online. But even if it is the same concept, it can be presented in different ways. In some cases, it is a combination of different ways. One good example is the AdWords. AdWords, created by Google, is an advertising product which allows PPC, banner ads, and site targeted advertising. The other types of advertising excluding the first one are actually being used even in companies that are not online. PPC is unique to online advertising. But then, what is PPC?
PPC is short for Pay Per Click. It is an advertising technique mainly used on websites. But the advertisers and the host observe pay per click basis. Meaning, the advertiser only needs to pay how many times his ad has been clicked. In the case of search engines, the advertisers would have to pay based on the keywords they used to lead to their website. The words are specified by the advertiser, and he will also state how much they are willing to pay. The latter can be observed in Google’s search engine. The advertisements one makes with AdWords can be seen not just in Google, but also in its partner networks which include: Netscape, Ask.com, AOL search, etc. There are many companies which offer PPC service. But among the top are: Yahoo! Search Marketing, Google AdWords, and Microsoft AdCenter.
Site targeted advertising is now known as Placement Targeted Advertisements. This was first introduced by Google back in 2003. The advertiser chooses certain locations which he thinks is important or related to his advertisement. He can opt to choose a demographic preference. The main basis for targeting sites is (CPC) Cost per Click or (CPI) Cost per Impression. Placement targeting is better in terms of visibility. That is because it advertises as a whole and not in parts. It is more noticeable and visible. Hence, it makes the ad more effective.
As you can observe, making money online basically revolves around advertisements. That is because advertising through the internet is one of the most effective ways to advertise. Google is a large scale advertisement host. But if you are not at that level, you can still earn money online. Small scale advertisements can be made by offering links to websites.
